Pretty good; Colin this is an understatement. Carron lines are brilliant probably the best there are. They are not cheap but if you want the best it costs money.

I am not a trout fisher but I have cast the trout lines and they flattered my casting.

Thanks for the offer Willie, unfortunately it won't be this year as all my Hols are already booked up for the incoming financial year.I hope to get over to Scotland next summer though . Colin. PS are the Trout lines as good as the Salmon lines ? I bought the Salmon line on recommendation from people on here. I also picked up the trout line, fishing it in summer time in NZ, I thought it was a good line. You'll want to give it a bit of a stretch the first couple of times. Also, buy the muclin (or whatever the magic line forumula they have is) and be quite generous with it. That makes it zing I found. I wish you could order their trout lines in different colours, brown/dark green would be great, some NZ guides thought the line a bit light. I guess Trout may not be a big priority for them, but it would be great if they could produce different taper designs a la Sci. Anglers Trout taper, XPS, etc..

Just to add, I do like Carron's customer service... I ordered a duplicate 5wt line and they called me to double check that the other line didn't have a problem. [It didn't I nail knot fluro leaders for nymphing and on another line copolymer, it saves me chopping and changing and I don't like loop-loop connections on fly-leader].
Great customer service!
