Just bought a 14' Norway on ebay today, looking forward to trying it out next week sometime. I bought it based on the good comments made about it on here and the FF forum.
Graham - I know you've had a go on the 14' Norway and also the 13' Greyflex (mk1), which I also own. Am I right in thinking the Norway action is slower than the Greyflex? I like the Greyflex but wanted to try a slightly slower rod, for a change.

Yes the Norway has a slightly slower action than the Greyflex mk1. I noticed that one on E-Bay, I think you got a bargin there. Yes, I've been sweating on that one all week! ;D Just hope it arrives in 3 pieces!

Thanks John - I've just suggested that to the seller - I don't want a 4 piece Norway before the official launch! ;D

Only cost £1.75 to insure the rod for £250, so silly not to really!

One of my favourite 15 footers is a Greyflex [MK1] 10/11] - although a big seller one rarely hears their praises sung on these forums - they are excellent. The continued development of spey lines would seem to be playing havoc with traditional choices relating to rod length - one of my double handers is a Scierra 12'6" #9 which matched with a Hardy mach Spey 9/10 allows me to throw a very long line indeed - high line speed is effortless. Line control will of course suffer with the shorter rod.

I like my 13' Greyflex beanieboy, it's a great allround rod for medium rivers - it feels so light in the hand as well.
Had 20 minutes on the local river today with the 14' Norway. First impressions - very nice indeed. Slightly slower and more forgiving action than my other rods. Seems to work well with a Midspey 9/10 and a Wincutter 9/10/11. Should be perfect for Conwy/Dee/Annan/Upper Tweed.
Looking forward to using it soon. ;D

Thinking of getting an Ian Gordon spey line for the 14' Norway, probably the 65' head. Has anybody tried the 9/10 or 10/11 line with this rod?

Had a few casts with the IG 9/10 and 10/11 lines yesterday. Both worked well with the rod so I couldn't make my mind up!
I'll probably go for the 10/11 because it should work well with my 15' rod as well.
First time I've cast with the IG spey lines - very impressed, nice turnover and they shoot well.
