Anyone used these lines? What lenght is the sinking tip? What's the profile like? Are they designed more for presentation with smaller flies or will they handle larger flies and tubes?
thanks

cheers Springer. I kinda thought that. Might settle for the Hardy Mach II then. If it's anything like the other Hardy Mach lines it should turn over larger flies no problem. The head is shorter, but I can live with that.
I actually thought Loop were bringing out a sinktip line, which would have been an option, but I don't see them advertised anywhere.

Springer, how do you think the Snowbee line would work if I cut 5-8ft off the tip? Let's say from the 3D line. Would the taper still be relatively fine at the cut off point? Just noticed in Norris catalogue it states the tip is 20'. Is that right?
I like the sink rate of the Snowbee line and the head lenght, so I'm tempted to buy and cut.
What do you think?

Depends what you want it for, I advised a client to buy an intermediate for October fishing, a well known tackle shop in Penrith sold him a Snowbee Sinktip, totally useless. It would not get down, it would not turn over a polyleader to get down ,or a brass bottle tube.
Useful instead of a floater and 5' polyleader. IMO

Cheers Willie, I use polyleaders a lot with my IG floater, but fancied getting a sinktip line for the specific purpose of fishing larger flies and tubes, particuarly in Norway. I'm convinced now that the Snowbee isn't the line for the job. I'll go with the Hardy Mach.

Useful instead of a floater and 5' polyleader. IMO I bought a 2D sinktip last year and would agree with Malcom's comment above. I've cut 3' off the tip to improve turnover of bigger flies, and would say it is better.

Being only a beginner at Salmon fly fishing I also bought the Snowbee 3D sink-tip and give it a few casts and found the sinking tip just wasn't sinking so now what do I do with it!
