;D Got my new Oracle IV back from Shakespeare today, 5 days after i posted it off....following the lower cork snapping during casting..... it arrived with the lower part replaced I'm well chuffed. when you consider that it took a day to post there and a day to return, and the fact there was a weekend in between.... its a quick return.... I spoke to them on the phone before posting and included a letter with the rod to explain the reason for the return and today it arrived. There was no letter with the rod... just simply a replacement, but thats all that matters! So i'll give them a call tomorrow to say thanx. You couldn't ask for much better after sales service than that! ;D So Dennis, thanx for the lend of the rod....... i'll drop you it off this week! John.

Not bad considering the postage probably cost almost as much as the rod! I just got one too, but have only had it out once. Really got it as a back up. What line are you using with it? Is it the 15fter?

I bought the 13ft Oracle..... and besides the broken handle which was replaced its all been good! I like everything about it and it does me just fine on my local spate river... all i need now is a bend in it!!!
As for line, i got an Ian Gordon floater 65ft head......10/11, i should have probably gone with the heavier line, say 11/12 as with a tube or heavy fly it doesn't seem to turn over or cast very well......... I have since tried a Rio windcutter, which worked better and a Mach 2 which is better still
I like the IG floater for small flies , but not at all with tubes! Whether its just because im a novice? or use a short rod? who knows
i like the rod all the same!
