Hello all, this is my first post so please be gentle with me,i'm going to buy a carron line but i'm not sure which length of head would suit?i've only been at the spey casting a wee while and would the floater and polyleader combo work or would i be better with 2 separate lines?ie:floater and sink or intermediate and sink,or maybe all 3!just had the first baby so can't see that!i'm fishing rivers like the conon and ness mostly so if anybody could advise i'd be most grateful, many thanks Ian

for the ness and the connon a good compramise would be the 75', it is a great casting line but also presents well at closer ranges, ;D these rivers seem to fish mostly from the summmer on (I think!) so the floater with a couple of poly tips would be a good choice. where do you fish these rivers, and what rod are you using, ? tight lines blair

Where are based? I could let you try someif you are close to Speyside.
Otherwise start with the 75ft floater you will love it

Textbook spey line, 75ft is what i use and it is ample for any river i have fished and fishes with a polyleader very comfortably.
I took quite a significant 'nick' out of my line on a nasty rock this week on the Dee. Any suggestions on a little repair?
Considering aqausure?
