Hi All.
I am setup for my 1st ever Salmon fishing trip on the Tay in July. I will be fishing some of the upper and middle beats and staying at the Ailean Chraggan hotel.
Could anyone advise me on a good rod/line combination, bearing in mind that I probably won't be able to fish for Salmon more than a couple of times a year.
I have been looking at the Redington RedFly 14 ft 10weight & slow intermediate or sink-tip line, how does that stack-up ?
What would be a typical leader setup ?
ANY advice from the old hands would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Andrew.

Andrew, I bought a Vision 14ft 3 pce a few years ago as I only make it out a few times a year myself - although that has changed a tad of late. Anyhow, matched to a floating line and an assortment of polyleaders I'm happy that I'm covering fish. You might wish to consider a slow sinker of some kind as well, but not essential. Leaders - hmmmm, I use 9ft straight through sometimes with a dropper.
