For smaller rivers I use a snowbee 2d, which I think at 61ft is a few feet shorter than the IG line. Works well for me on the Exe.

Does Scierra not have a line for that rod? My understanding of what Scierra has going is lines that are made specifically to balance the rods they sell so it all comes as one "kit". I've cast their 13' and combined line with no problems. Though they are shooting head style lines that would be the place I'd start.

I have just bought a scierra xda 12.5ft #9 for my local spate river so a shorter head line would be fine i have been thinking about the 2 lines above or are there any other lines i should look at ,Anywhere selling them cheap would be a plus ;D. Colin. I have a Hard Mach 1 WF Floating 8Wt but now prefer /recommend use Cortland 444SL Spey multitip on My 13ft Norway B&W 8/9 Cortland 444SL - Currently Selling for arround £45 on ebay see tinyurl.com/yz8te2
