Hi Guys
Went for a Guideline LPXe 14fter (9-10) at Christmas ;D and am now trying to match up a line(s) for it.
I fish mainly small to medium rivers so don't need a long head. I tried out a Windcutter when I was testing the rod and it worked very well. I have also tried an IG floater (65 head) but didn't like it as well with the longer head. (I mostly overhead cast but am trying more spey casting so still getting used to the technique).
Another line I was considering was the Snowbee 1D but have heard they don't like polyleaders? (I usually fish with tips so need a line that will work well with them).
Any suggestions much appreciated. cheers

the loop quattro is good choice-range of tips. I think GAC are doing them at £80-something.
lots of versatility.

No, am sitting here with young calvin- wont make a cast for couple of weeks yet. Conservation. the 8/9 might be good with polys, short tippet and big flies. have a go, might be the job. maybe a pack of 10' tips might make more sense than another line. R

Hardy Mach 9/10 will work very well with your rod - I still regret selling my 14' LPXe [thought the handle too short]

conservation yeh right isn't it about time you got Calvin out for his first fishing trip by now ;D Think the 8/9 # would be a bit light for the 14fter but should be spot on for my 12fter Will let you know how I get on with it. The quattro sounds like a possible option and I think there is a Windcutter version as well. Will look into the Hardy as well. E

be careful with the quotto they are heavier than normal ratings i 10/11 for my sage 9/10 and snapped the rod( lol) i have two snow bee 9/10 floaters and had 10 ft cut of one for my tips 5ft to 13ft it will now cast a full line with them all just remember when using a sink tip to roll the line to the surface first then go in to the cast of your choice a snake roll or a roll cast , skadget cast any one will do as long as it lifts your tip first , the 1d, and 2d will cast all tips as long as you roll the tip to the surface first then perform the cast of your choice cheers billy p

The Snowbee 1D lines will all turnover 10' polyleaders without having to cut the line down. The Snowbee lines have an obvious colour change, and are very smooth and supple with next to no coil memory. I also used Hardy Mach 1 lines on my 13' LPXe with good results.
