Hi Folks
I am pretty new to this game and would like some advice if possible
What I have for this coming season at the moment is:
Oracle IV 10/11 4 piece 15ft, Summit Fly Reel, WF11/12F IG 65ft head & sink tip
Cortland GR2 10/11 15ft, Summit Fly Reel, WF12 F Fly Line & sink tip
"Classic" 14ft 9/10 (E-Bay) seems all right, used it last season) Magnum 200D Fly Reel, IG WF10/11F
Cortland GR2 8/9 13ft, Wickham fly reel, WF10/11 F & sink tip
Is this adequate or should I be looking at something else bearing in mind I am pretty average caster & learning every outing
Thanks in advance
Cheers
Graeme

Don't complicate things too much by buying too many rods - get used to an allrounder, say a 14', and try to improve your casting skills. I know lots of people who when starting out, try to buy a rod thay will make them a better caster instead of just buying a good quality all round rod and getting plenty of practice in. Your kit is fine but if you skip from one rod to the other without first honing your casting skills you may become frustrated. Hi Alan
Have reviewed your comments again & would like to add the following
The Cortland GR 2 13ft was my first double handed rod bought about 2 years ago & gradually throughout this time have managed to throw out almost 30yd of line
In fact last year a Gillie on the Dee had a couple of casts with it & commented "a cracking wee rod"
So could it be horses for courses or another's mans meat could be another mans poising?

Thanks Alan
I haven't had a go with the 15ft yet, only bought it a few weeks ago, will let you know how I get on
I have been salmon fishing for the last 2 seasons but still consider myself a novice as I have a lot to learn
My comments on the 30 yards - what I really meant was now & then I could get it out 30 yards, but threw that in to show what could be achieved in the hands of an average caster
Thanks for your comments though, they are really appreciated
Cheers
Graeme
