Let down by another pair of wading boots - this time Vision ones. Usual problem - the sole detatching from the boot. This time after only eight months (including a long close season).
This has happened with almost every pair of boots I have had from various manufacturers. Best has been about one and a half seasons use. The exception is a very old pair of Orvis Battenkill boots about 10 years old which are still my back-up.
Happens to others too - memories of CapnFishy appearing up the Tay like Coco the Clown - both soles flapping at his feet.
Has anyone come across a completely dependable pair of glued sole wading boots? What are the experiences of the interchangeable soles such as on Korkers, Orvis?
Comments greatfully recieved.
Only consolation is that someone from Vision is going to open a parcel containing a pair of wet, smelly boots later in the week!

I've had a pair of Simms lightweight boots with the aquastealth sole for 5 years and have given them some pretty hard abuse and they are still going strong. My Loop felt soled boots are still fine after 3 seasons hard wading. The Capn Fishy incident was due to his Scierra Daytona wading boots being put together with what turned out to be water soluble glue Nice one Scierra - they obviously don't do a lot of wading in China

I have the korkers boots and they seem quite well made but only had them 4 months so time will tell.

The felt soles on my vision boots are stitched on, like on Simms boots. Obviously better than just glue.

My airflo boots are just beginning to fall apart after 3 or 4 years.

Simms Aquastealths only way forward,(and backward and slightly sideways) for me having tried Scierra,Vision et al.
Once had Vison boots that were too tall for the gravel guards to fit over and its always the felt sole that comes adrift, never wear and tear but wouldn't be parted from my Simms FALTIC.
Makes the old Gates galoshes things seem gas powered in comfort terms but boy they had some grip.

Korkers. I like the versatility of the soles. I use the felt with studs for rivers and can switch to the rubber soles when i want to wear waders for boat fishing or on the bank at Grafham or Pitsford.

I had the same problem with my Vision Flywater boots but have to say they do the job nicely without felt soles. The old man had the same problem and having glued and studded the soles back on I think he's had no further problems.
