I have an 11/12 75' floater and intermediate....great, The only lines I've cast that I like better are the Carrons, but they are double the price you can get the IG for.

Use the 7/8 floater during summer, partnered with the Ian Gordon 12ft double hander. Will turn over intermediate/light sink tips of around 5' long. Has a nice long rear taper and if chucked out well , goes for a good distance.

Thanks guys, What other lines would you say they are similar to ? are they a "heavy" line ? i.e. If a 10 -11 weight, do they lean towards the heavier of the two weights? Robbie

Robbie Robbie, its worth trying them out. If my memory serves me correctly Springer has a few of these in the line pool so you can guage which works with your own specific gear. I find the 65ft heads to be pretty much spot on for the 9/10 and 10/11 lines(unfortunately I don't have the head weights to hand) but have heard others say that the 75ft heads are on the light side of the scale. I'm sure that Springer could advise and lend you a couple from the line pool to try cheers Splash

Hi Springer and Splash, The Rod is a Sage Z Axis 15' 10 wt.. I am looking for a fast sinking line. I experimented over the weekend with different lines and found that a Mach 2 fast sink worked OK... On a floating line, the W/cutter 9/10/11 worked and was obviously more delicate than the 10/11/12. Both Bill Drury lines worked Ok. (Floater and Sink1/sink2) The Snowbee 2d floater felt a bit wishy washy but was o.k.. The Windcutter 10/11/12 Intermediate worked very well. Do you think the IG line will outperform the Mach2 based on what I have told you ??

Steve, strangely the 9/10/11 WC Floater was "nicer" than the 10/11/12 WC. However the only Inter we had was a 10/11/12 WC which worked very well. The Hardy Mach 2 Fast sinker was a 10/11wt. Based on this non empirical research do you still think the 11/12 IG may not be a tad heavy?

Hi Steve, The lighter w/c cast just as far as the 10/12 and also loaded the rod well, however understandably was more delicate. You are right about the Mach2 ( It was a 10). I guess the 10/11 Ig is probably right, Thanks for all your input,(everyone) it is soooo helpful regards Robbie
