Gents, I am possibly looking to buy the Guideline Le Cie 14' 8" UK Spey rod. Can anyone pass on advice on how the rod performs - would anyone recommend it? I currently fish with a 9/10 Norway Speycaster and 10/11 IG 65' lines. Would these lines be suitable for this rod?
Cheers, Ross.

I have the 15' 9" and it is a cracking rod. It handles my 11/12 IG and a 10/11 line I have. I'm sure others on the forum have the 14' 8" and can comment better than I, but based on the performance of my Le Cie I would not hesitate getting another.
Cheers,
Jock

Think there are 2 models in 14'8" - medium and fast. If you are used to a Norway the medium is probably the way to go - one just sold on ebay [secondhand] for £195 - short handle not to everyones taste but fine rods nonetheless - was not very impressed with their new spey range - too soft.

Cheers lads, Think I will go ahead and buy one. Would I be right in saying that the UK Spey has a slightly longer handle than the standard model.
Ross.

Yes, the spey model has a longer handle - as stated above I found it rather soft.
