the River Ericht on Saturday

a few pics of the river Ericht ( my local ) which i fished on Saturday........ no catches to report! I had the whole river to myself from 8am until 10.30.... then it started to get busy as people woke to see it had risen over-night.... so i made an exit at mid-day. I didnt get any fish as i said.... but i did see four, which helped raise the spirits and keep the toes warm!

I've walked the banks on this stretch before, but I've never had the opportunity to fish it. I took the day off work one day to fish the association water, but when I arrived the river was in one of the biggest spates of the year after very heavy overnight rain!!! Hence the reason that I just had a walk along it. I could not fish the next day as it was Saturday and visitors can't get on Saturdays

Great looking river. What's the fishing like in June? Is it a typical spate stream at that time of year? I'll be over in your area late June and hope to fish somewhere.

redshrimp, Im not 100% sure what the salmon fishing is like in June but the trout fishing is superb! Salmon are taken throughout the Summer and it has good grilse runs...from what i hear.....it can be a bit hit and miss depending on the water levels.... but im sure most small rivers are the same...... give me a shout if you are up this way and i'll meet up with you.... hopefully i'll have had a few by then!!
