Yesterday I had my first outing on the Lyn this season. About a foot less water would have been useful but still got one about 8lb on spinner. I didn't have enough hands to get a picture of the fish while returning her. The Bristol channel is about five hundred yards round the corner so they should be fresh Looking for a fishable bit A bit too much water for the Bridge pool (there hasn't been a bridge here since 1952) Overflow pool, one of the few fishable ones on the day Vellacotts pool where the fish was caught. Historically the most productive snatching pool on the river! If I see water that high in July I'm phoning in sick for a week!!! Tight lines Andy

Lovely photos - the river reminds me of the Lledr and the Glaslyn in North Wales.

Nice one Andy. Is this the EA water?

Yes I was on the EA water, the first photo is the only private bit on the lower river. It may look like the north Wales rivers but sadly the seatrout runs are nothing like as good. Like many places the seatrout stocks declined sharply in the 90's and have never really recovered. I never made it down the Frome on Sunday, which was a pity as I hear it was also up and clear.
Tight lines
Andy
