Right its been 4 weeks since I last went fishing, I have worked right through the easter bank holiday weekend and have not had more than 1 beer for over a week, getting very restless and feel like I am about to explode.
My local river is getting on the low side and its still a bit early in the season, thinking of going upto the Liddle (border Esk tributary) to check out some fishing that my club has got up there. The water is near Longtown and is the opposite bank to the Buccleuch estate not fished it before has anyone got any tips?? Think it may be a bit early for the salmon but the sea trout should be about either way it will do me the world of good to get out and have a proper cast.

Springer may make the trip to the Tyne if the conditions are still good on Thursday/ Friday.

hi
try ringing the message service of Iain Bell on 01387 381951
he has an up to date message for the esk and the liddle
and is always very helpful
another option is john at McHardys in carlisle who also fishes the river
