Holme Lacey ,any one fished it any info hotspots taking lies ect ,probably there this sun rain permitting

Holme Lacey is a famous beat just a few miles below Hereford and was the beat on which J.A. Hutton did much of his fishing, also Pashley fished there a bit.
It is typical middle Wye, generally fairly slow flowing with deep pools and connecting runs, there is some fly water but there is a lot of spinning as well. The main problem with the beat is that whilst for the most part of the 20th century it was prime Wye, in recent years the focus has moved to below Monmouth and Holme Lacey may be short of fish.
If they are there it's as good as anywhere.

Well spoke to Wye Usk foundation folks yesterday ,looks like a resivour tomorrow ,they did say back end of next week could be good ,no good to me as its a kennet carrier mayfly day !
