So, when is a spring fish not a spring fish? Is it one that's caught before June 1st, or later than that?

Thanks Springer. I guess, therefore, that it would depend a little on the river and when its run of fish occur in the season.

Its classed as before the 31st May on fishscotland sites.
However, some people believe its before the end of April.
