I keep hearing about these and they seem to be the way to go for the occasional bit of worming that I do. What make, model and size should I get and who supplies them? You can always say the information came from an acquaintance if you don't want to admit to knowing first hand Cheers Andy

Andy www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.SearchResults?cmid=BOTTOM_SEARCH_GO, That is where I get my hooks from, but I honestly have not used them for worming, for that I useEagle Claw worming hooks ! The Circle hooks ,i give to a pal of mine and he ties flies on them for anglers who,on some rivers are only allowed singles and squeeze in the barbs. One guy absolutley swears by them, never lost a fish etc etc. I have no idea who sell them in this country but a search on the web will find that for you I'm sure.Hope it helps.

Thanks for your help. It's too bloody hot to think about salmon down here now anyway.

Kercock,
I would never have thought of tying a fly on a circle hook, using one with a tube fly maybe. What style of dressing looks "right" on one. I presume the dressing is kept to the straight part of the shank. I suppose like most people who haven't used them I have doubts about how well they will hook salmon. My home rivers are very small and much of my fishing is done with casts measured in feet rather than yards so there is never much slack line out to pull the fly into the scissors. Indeed I strike any fish that I actually see take the fly. Would I have to learn not to strike if I try the circle hooks? I'll certainly give them a go if it ever rains down here again.
Cheers
Andy
