Learning to Spey Cast

Who can recommend where to go for Spey casting lessons near the North West? Would it be difficult to learn from a book instead?

Its impossible to learn from a book, believe me I tried.

I've had a morning and 2 x1 hour sessions in the last year and it is the only way to do it IMHO.

The Michael Evans DVD is the best, very watchable and brilliantly filmed.

In the North West I'd recommend Gwilym Hughes on the Dee/North Wales - not met him myself but had him recommended to me many times..

Hi, yes I know Gwilym Hughes. I fished with him back in February for Grayling on the dee and had an excellent time too. I think I might give him a call perhaps. He's a really good laugh as well.
