The bare facts hardly tell the story! But here goes.. Teal Blue & Silver River Findhorn Forres AA Lower Beat, Cloddy's Pool 0715am Monday 24th July 2006 Gentle take on a sea trout fly, explosive fight, wonderful on barbecue Grilse, still sea-liced, straight from tide, 24 inches at 5lb. Captor still in shock! Thanks go to all you on here giving advice and encouragement. I am at last on my way! - JJ ;D

Yep still buzzing guys! ;D ;D ;D ;D The Findhorn is really suffering from low water and is reduced in most parts on the Forres beat to a trickle. I was advised to be there at dawn (4am !), fish tiny flies and fish the head of the pools in ruffled water (particularly if there is a darker trench of water against a sheer cliff (eg on the outside of a bend). Once I found that kind of lie, I got one pretty much straight away! Once I landed it though, I just couldnt get much of a line out after - all the puff had gone out of me and I didnt have the heart to carry on. Loved it and will definately return in early September - JJ

Well doneJJ!!!!!!!! cracking fish.... cloddy is a nice pool..very fishy!! my Grannie recently caut her 1st0salmon on faa (from the stoney)too- a 2.5-3lber!!! cograts again...great 1st fish!!!!!!!
