Hi Macd - had a look at The Cat Empire - very interesting and right up one of my many streets - nice one ! Funky wee website to boot. Fruin - take it you also know the JM album Bless The Weather ? Musical respect to you both. Sinkingtip, Don't have it on CD at the mo, but have it on scratched record or tape in the loft of my parents somewhere. Keep saying I'll have to reclaim my old record and tape collection at some point!!!

macd - if you are a Feats fan I hope you have, or are at least aware, of Lowell George's solo album Thanks I'll Eat It Here ? Fantastic version of Allan Toussaint's song What Do You want The Girl To Do and a great 'fishing' related number called Find A River - check it out if you don't know it. Had a Sonny and Brownie album donkeys ago - cant recall what the title was but it was with a small band and it had versions of the Curtis Mayfield tune People Get Ready and Randy Newman's Sail Away. The Special AKA - say no more ! The Doors - say even less ! AA - A Bomb In Wardour Street and Start. The Jam - Absolutely ! For Info - Devo are touring in June and playing Glesca - never mind fishing trips, what about a 'forum' away day at the Devo gig ? ;D The Clash - London Calling. Have approached many a beat carpark over the years with White Man At Hammersmith Palais blaring out - ideal start to a day on the river. Amazing how one's taste in music can completely change preconceptions of people - nice one guys.

Have to agree with you on that one Fruin - Hey Baby from Troubadour is a classic deep wading number IMO

He was once asked if it annoyed him that artists, such as Clapton, who covered his songs, achieved greater fame and fortune than him. He replied that the less fame he has, the more time he has to go fishing. Top answer!

Arcade Fire-not bad.
Some of it sounds like 10,000 Maniacs without the (somewhat)whiney Natalie Merchant.
Currently enjoying Ray LaMontagne's Trouble produced by Ryan Adams trusty wing man Ethan Johns-which is why it sounds so damned like Mr A.
Jolene current fave track with this opus, and Mr Adams debut album, being possible contenders as the "Blood on the Tracks" for the noughties.
