sinking tip theres nowt wrong with my choice of songs they are as good as any body elses what makes you think otherwise my man I never said they werent my man, I was just trying to encourage you to really stretch yourself and discover an otherwise untapped inner strength as we have all had to do on this one - forget the intellectual rigours required for getting your head around Czech Nymphing - as you can see some guys are taking this humble thread to an almost Nobel level (and why not?). ;D Heavily rated "wading for a girl / grilse like you". Love your work generally - always have done . Yours aye STip -ington.

FISHSONGS 07 - THE SHORTLIST Gentlemen. Acceptances for this seasons competition have now ceased. Both Mrs Tip and myself (plus a small panel of randomly selected and impartial specialists) have been debating and deliberating over the final selection and extrapolation from a jumbo sized plethora of, at times, truly inspirational thought processes - we thank you. After some lively, informed and, at times, heated exchanges we have selected a cross section of 20 'classics'. Being of 'average' intelligence it has not been possible for me to devise a voting system which would be worthy of comparison to Pertempledog's Euro System 2..................so let's just go for a total rammy !! YOU flag up your 'top ten' from the 20 list - lets see what titles keep cropping up and from that we can whittle it down to the most mentioned TEN then down to FIVE and finally down to the last THREE after which I will publish a premium rate number to call with you vote for the eventual winner........... just jesting about the phone call (well, you never know someone might have thought I was serious !). TEN selections between now and Tuesday 29th - quickly thereafter the Final 5 and the eventual 'winner' announced by the end of the week - fair enough . List after Songs of Praise

FISHSONGS - THE LIST 07 Please note that I have purposely omitted the authors in an attempt to lessen the chances of an 'Eastern bloc' Eurovision type voting strategy being formed - ye ken whit these Inversneckie lads are like. IN NO SET ORDER............. 1) Culture Chub - Bob Church Of The Poisson Mind 2) Kirsty McCall - There's A Guy Works Down The Chip Shop Swears He's Falkus 3) Billy Idol - Treble Yell 4) Mike Oldfield - Tubes-You-Like-Well 5) Lets Net Together - Bryan Ferry 6) Whelkie Brooks - Pearl's A Springer 7) Queen - Its A Kynoch Magic 8) Bruce + Walker Bros - Make Casting Easy On Yourself 9) Donnie Osmond - Grey Sea Horses 10) Indeep - Last Night A Dee Flea Saved My Life 11) Garry Man-its-low - Looks Like We Wade It 12) The Darkness - I Believe In A Line Thats Sunk (S/T fishers anthem) 13) Debbie Harry - Czech Nymphing In The USA 14) The Kinks - Tired Of Wading 15) Tubefly Army - Are Friends Electro Fishing 16) Beatles - A Hard Tay's Sh*te 17) Scott McKenzie - If Your Going To Fish Near Kelso 18) Phil Lineoot - The Croys Are Back In Town 19) Peter Shelley - Love Me Love My Rod 20) Cliff Pilchard - Its Not Funny How We Dont Catch Anymore Thats it folks - I hope your favourite is in there someplace. It goes without saying that there's a barry load of sheer quality that didn't quite make it to the final 20 but hey ! Lets whittle this down to TEN - failing this he who shouts loudest getest. Yours aye STip-u lation.

Thanks PAT - just needing a few more voters to get a decent consensus otherwise its you and Hornet for the prize - and why not ?
Please note : If anyone else comes to this then the 10 endorsed by H + P are now officially the 'shorter' list - please refer to this and select down to 5.
I thank you.
