Yipppeee got tickets for the final, can't believe my luck. 65000 season ticket holders going for 25000 tickets with 37000 season ticket holders having all 9 qualifying cup (FA, League and CL) games to be eligible to apply so the odds were against me and even going to the semi final counted for nothing in the ballot.
Its an expensive day out £85 for the ticket and its not even the dearest plus hotel and train which adds upto £190 and that doesn't even include beer of which many will be drunk as I am leaving home at 7am.
Lets hope there are red ribbons on the cup come 5pm on 19th May 2007.

Bit expensive to spend money on a cup final which is worth not alot at the end of the day. Now, if you had booked a ticket for Athens then I could see where the excitement will start, not only will you get a small holiday, but you will also get to see a great game. You would be better off spending that money on a couple of days fishing.

Tell that to the people who are buying tickets for upto £2500, its the first cup final at the new Wembley so it is a big occasion. It will be a great piss up too, watch out London plenty of drunken northerners on the way.
Going for a weeks fishing 5 days after the final so I have that one covered plus the river is less than 1 mile from my house so I have plenty of fishing opportunity.
Not much point in me going to Athens as we got knocked out in the semi finals. It will be a great game if Milan beat the scousers though.

No one can ever take my FA Cup experience away from me.. a wonderful run, beat Sunderland at Old Trafford (took the p&ss out of the Mancs in their backyard) and then outsung and outpartyed the Reds at the Millenium.
Come on Wall!

The only bit of footy news that's worth knowing is that the mighty Mr Stuart McCall is the new Bradford City manager. A legend at Valley Parade, his (re)arrival is sure to see a turnaround in our fortunes (the almighty plummet from shoving two up the Arsenal to old 4th division in 6 years stings a bit). Perhaps once again we may reach the heady heights of the 3rd division where we belong, as do L**ds I might add, mid table mediocrity here we come. Hey, it beats relegation every year ;D.

Just got back from Wembley after watching a very poor game and drinking way too much after a 20 hour binge, still it was a good day out. Chelsea are known for playing boring unattractive football and I couldn't believe that Ferguson allowed his team to play in this way, too many players went missing for long spells. I have seen the replays of when Giggs got the ball in the net a few times now and still think it should have stood as it was a 50/50 ball.
Wembley is an impressive sight and is not as big as I imagined it would be but I still can't justify the huge amount of money that was wasted building it.

Except for the bit about "impressive sight" now you know what it feels like to have paid for the Scottish Parliament Building....except we will be paying for the snagging for millennium to come

Not sobered up yet then! Since when is kicking the goalkeeper into the net a legitimate act in football? ;D Great fun listening to the Mancunian wingeing! Two good teams playing a cagey tactical battle, because they are good enough to, and a winning goal deserving to win the game. If you want exciting football watch a lower standard. Roll on the new season and Forza the Rossoneri!

Can't complain about the winning goal, great pass from Lampard and a fine finish from Drogba but cagey tactical football is not the Utd way although it appears that it may well end up becoming that, yawn.
Did the linesman or ref blow for a foul? i don't think so. Did the ball cross the line? Yes so its a goal or should have been.
Beat Liverpool (MB's) home and away without conceding a goal to them and finished 21 points above them plus also did the double over City so not a bad season just not as good as it could have been. 10 week break to get some fishing done now.
