i used to brew my own beer but it is extremely difficult to purchase these kits nowadays maybe this is a good thing as the ale tasted like washing up liquid but 2 pints & it was velvet only problem was the next morning the phrase eye of a needle comes to mind. guinness in bottles from ireland are the dogs..... i had a friend bring some back, the barman that sold them to him said that was the best in the world even better than draught NEPTUNE ;D that name still gives me the giggles,,you will find excelent home brewing kits here. www.thebrewbarn.co.uk/

I think templedog has the best situation, he lives in the car park of Theakstons brewery in Masham, and the adjoining building is the Black Sheep brewery. Can't get fresher than that, you can drink gallons of the stuff and not get a hangover. I attend Frocester beer festival each year and on the whole, the best beers come from the north of England(persnal taste). I have tried, and liked the Orkney ales (wimped out on trying the Skullsplitter) When on Skye there is an ale named after the Cuillins (can't remember the brewer) that was quaffed with much relish. ;D

Slightly off topic , but Asda are selling Old Pulteney malt at £17.00 instead of the usual £22 +. Great dram , even better price. Bought 3.

Enough of this, I'm off fishing.... These may be OK if waters calm.... But then again, I may need to revert to the old faithfuls... Or should I go for the traditional 4-4-2 formation? See you on the other side....of the glass! Mike
