That's interesting to know about Islabank. If I take up coarse fishing it sounds good ;D I would suggest that you give Kercock a day. Has already had 3 springers and will no doubt be well up on the number of fish by the time you are fishing. The cost of a days fishing is reasonable and the 2 ghillies are the best. Well worth a cast. I would have been there today but unfortunately I am at work. Have a look at www.fishtay.co.uk and go to salmon beats and click kercock. or contact our very own KERCOCK who will give you the information that you require. Good luck & Tightlines

Topender, I fished Islabank last April, with low water levels it was a bit poor for the fly. The gillie is a smashing bloke but its all very pro worm / spinner water. We ended up going to the South Esk at Kinnaird, lovely fly water and there were spring fish about. The middle and lower beats are less than £30.00 a day and are a far better bet and value for money than Islabank.

Don't get me wrong i mainly fish the North Esk or have my few days at the back end on the Tweed.
This year i will be starting off on the Dee, North Esk then South Esk ;D and will hopefully get out on the Tay either on Newtyle or Kercock.
The choice is amazing and really difficult as there is so many beats and places to go.
I go to the Isla just because the old boy likes to spin & worm and the Ghillie is an ex work colleague of mine. No bais here, it is totally up to the individual.
