Tweed has been in flood for 5 days now, I am amazed to see that any fish have been landed at all must be those Teeny lines...? Seems likely to drop off now, Boy would I love an Upper-Middle River day after these levels, the big Nov. late fish should be well upriver now without having seen a fly, ,

Hi anybody fishing this week? Do you think there any salmon still to catch or has the main run been and gone or still to come?

There are still fresh fish running the river. But the river has been rising all day so I was told at about 4.30pm today, so could possibly make fishing not very good for the last few days.

Hi anybody fishing this week? Do you think there any salmon still to catch or has the main run been and gone or still to come? Here's tonights dinner (from Traquair). I landed another 2 which went back - one was just as fresh and the other just turning. There was a small rise, but that didn't seem to make a difference to the overall day. Lots of fresh fish seen. In my opinion, it's well worth fishing.

He was just short of 8. Hopefully no rain tonight...so Glenormiston could be looking good for Thursday! The smallest I had was about 3, but she was in proportion - a nice little fat fresh fish, rather than just skinny. Most of what we've seen have been fresh or close. Seen very few kippers. River rising throughout the day today, so sadly no luck. Out early doors tomorrow though!

Salar76 that is a nice chunky fish, well done! All this water seems to have encouraged a really high proportion of "fresh" Salmon well Upriver this back-end, your fish is like the ones I was catching on Sunderland Hall a short while back, really good quality 2sw late runners. Better than the sometimes over-stocked pools in low water autumns when the fresh fish stay downstream! Incidentally my pal Dave H has just had 2 days on Monteviot, quite well up the Teviot. He landed 7, 2 of which he said were exceptionally silver almost springer-like. Not bad for the time of year.

Guess thats a bigger rock than a pebble then What set up where you using? Alan, Sorry I didn't see your post before you left. I was using Guideline 3/4 & 4/5 heads with plastic / copper tubes depending on the pool. Had another good day yesterday with 2 more and a couple of offers. Saw loads of fresh fish pushing through the pools. How was Glenormiston - should have been good levels today?

I see Glenormiston got 2 today. Now Springer and Macsalmo were fishing there today. Was it 1-1, 2-0, 0-2, 1-0, 0-1 or heaven forbid 0-0 ? Any bookies out there care to give some odds? I'm sure we will hear soon, unless of course the combination of sunk line, weighted tube and gentle 30mph breeze resulted in a visit to A&E. Hope you enjoyed your day lads. My money is on ***** Jock

Great pics Alan, looks like nice fly water as well.
Only 8 fish off the whole of the upper Tweed today, so the fish are probably running hard in the high water.
I hate the wind as well, especially when its blowing over my right shoulder or into my face - 4 of us ripped our breathable waders on a windy day in early November!
PS Gary seems to have had a v good season - a springer on the Annan, etc etc.

Thanks Jock and to you Elwyman, lady luck has been with me this season. I have fished hard when I've had the chance and its paid off this season + lucky with water heights, time off etc The wind was not so bad on the top beat, the bottom beat opposite Traquair was horrendous though, completely unfishable. 10 attempts to get one half decent cast (then you catch a leaf ) It was lovely fly water Elwyman. Ps; I'm not really a hunchback, its just my spare spool honest ;D
