Never fished it before but i have heard good reports of the gillie there.
February on the middle Tweed is always going to be a bit hit and miss to say the least.

I think there was an article about this beat in T&S, 2 or 3 years ago?
Possibly written by the gillie, or the article could have been about him?!

Only fished it the once ,found it an enjoyable fishery ,the pool with the old bridge and the Hut was kind to me ,and the Keeper Kevin was excellent .Would certainly fish it again

Tweedswood and its great gillie Kevin are a combination that I would enjoy exploring more at any time of the season. But, as I am told, above the caulds beneath Kelso, you fish more in expectation rather than hope in a normal February. That said, if this isn't a mild winter, I'm Jack Frost! I'd say Tweedswood would give a realistic hope of more than just a lucky pull, from late April onwards til June for the early fish. The true early ones seem to run to Ettrickmouth, then move v.slowly. "Normally" the bulk of the Springers seem to be slow runners, as you would expect, so at Tweedswood in Feb, you'd be thrilled to get one.

Looks like a great beat. The way the weather has been so far this year I 'd fancy my chances on the middle river as much as the lower.

The leader was chocolate and big when i drove past this afternoon, pouring its colour into the Tweed. The Tweed itself had not come up at that point but surely will.

Was planning a couple of days on tweed this week, but looks as though the weather has put paid to that ,I'm now thinking along the lines of traveling a bit further,i see craigellachie could give me a couple of days the week after,as you can probably tell my frustration point is at its peak,I'm in two minds though, maybe a little coaxing from forum members could make my mind up???

Tweed had its best week of the season last week - has it come up dirty today?
