I would have to agree with you tayspringer Kercock is great value for money when you compare it to some of the 'posher' beats on the Tay and everyone is made very welcome. Alan

Have you got a new "stand up routine" for 2007 Dennis?

I agree that Kercock is a great beat. I think it offers varied water that will cater for every type of angler. I also think that it is a rare commodity that offers excellent value fishing. You will not get miles of the river to yourself, but you will get plenty of room to fish. I personally think that some of the posher beats are wasted on the chosen few that can afford them. If they let the number of rods that some beats will comfortably take, and halved the price, they would find their bookings would be more consistent.
I have had the pleasure to fish some of the posher beats on rare occasions that I've had a special offer and on one of them an ex-Tay ghillie wrapped it up by saying - "It's not people that can fish that fish here, it's people that can afford it!"
Dennis is a great guy that tells it how it is and leaves his mark on you. I still get a laugh just thinking about some of his stories and comments.
Tight lines to all those that fish Kercock this year.

Glad to hear that you've not lost any enthusiasm for it Iain. I passed you outside Tesco's in Milngavie the other day, but I was too busy trying to stop two of my boys from running on to the road to grab your attention for a chat. Maybe catch up on the Tay some day this year

I nip into Tescos now and then to see what a salmon actually looks like. I'm sure we'll meet up one day on the river.Look forward to it Gary
