Yes, he seemed pleased to hook that kipper Interesting slant on fishing - the idea is really sound. Painful to watch then cast though - brings back too many memories

The "stars" of the program are the Ghillies, when they appear. Nice gentle pieces of good advice give in a pleasant, unassuming manner and with patience beyond their years, and that's saying something! Just like the Ghillies on this forum ;D
There are a couple of lochs up there that hold monster trout by the barrow load. I wonder if they'll be argocatted in to add a bit of spice or will they be kept secret?

I agree Jock, the ghillies seem to be the dog's danglies and would be a pleasure to get out with.
On the other hand i'm not a fan of the program as I think it has no structure / detail to the learning process for the anglers. Don't know maybe i have watched too many of the other fishing programmes that are on Sky which go into it a bit more.
I have enjoyed watching Botham on the fly especially when Andy Murray gave some tuition to him and Mike Atherton. Been out with Andy myself and had some great days.

Hi Hornet,
I don't think the programme is aimed at people like ourselves. Like you I've been disappointed in fishing content, but each week I watch as I know the area and I'm interested in how the show will progress.
I think it may encourage others to the pleasure of fly fishing in the wild.
Cheers,
Jock

Jock don't get me wrong i think most people will enjoy it by following how the Anglers get on. The exposure on mainstream TV to fly fishing will also hopefully bring some people into our most enjoyable past time and in your case dream job. ;D When asked at school what do you want to be when you grow up, how many said Ghillie on one of the most famous rivers in the world? Although i'm not a fan i must admit the program is bookmarked to come on each week so i do not miss it. Hornet
