Seems a pretty reasonable request Scotty. Will speak to Capt Edwin White to see if we can get you on the trawler for a bit of real fishing, who knows you may like it and make a bob or two.You will have plenty time to tie flies and learn the benefits and how the lunar cycle affects fish.

Your best bet is to join a local angling club scotty - Endrick/Leven/Clyde have salmon. www.lochlomondangling.com/index2.htmlThis is how most of us started, when we were young and skint!

This is how most of us started, when we were young and skint! Now I've progressed to being "old and skint" ;DI know the feeling! There ought to be government grants to assist aged salmon fishers pursue their chosen sport. Just think of all the money we save the NHS by keeping (relatively) fit. ;D If spey casting was an Olympic sport there'd be loads of funding for the 2012 games!

I'll second that ... good to see you're in the heating game 9nro - the big thing we're moving into as you'll no doubt know is thermal heat pumps and underfloor heating. If you can branch into these fields, you'll be able to buy a stretch of the Spey in a few years. I do agree with Salmonking though - the vernacular - you'll need to improve it to command an authoritative position - in whatever you do - not just salmon fishing. I think we're getting there with your last post though. By George, I think we're there now Scotty. ;D
