Posting rods, Again

Following on from a previous thread....

Has anyone actually posted a 3 piece 15 foot rod recently which when packed measures 1750mm?
The Post Office limit the length to 1500mm, many couriers limit it to 1200mm unless it is a company transaction.
As yet I have not found a courier who will deliver at a reasonable cost or deliver a private package.

Any recommendations?

I had to send my rod back to B&W and was advised by them to use 'their' courier. I tried contacting the courier directly but as I didn't have an account I was told to forget it.

Ended up asking B&W nicely if they could arrange for collection, which they duly did, the cost was £16.

Thanks for your reply say.
I have arranged it now with Transglobal Express.
They will do a next day door to door delivery at reasonable cost.
Just fill in the pages on the web site and receive e-mail confirmation.
£12.77 to deliver to Northern Ireland. One courier I tried quoted £200!!!!

That sounds like a reasonable price, might be useful info if we ever get a rod pool going. ;D
