Oh lord.
look, any attempt to censor anyone is a non starter. If you dont like it then dont bother with it.
When you say its too clubby etc, what do you propose is done about it? It is an open forum after-all- so why must it conform to your view?
If you spend more time posting and interacting with others you will quickly find like minds and develop your own wee network of friends. Honestly you have to put the time in, instead of coming over all hard done by.
Like springer my interest has been on the wain for some time because of the emerging anti-clique clique. No sense of irony among you at all is there.

ok ,now that everyone has aired there feelings, we can all move on, as the fishing season is apon us, there are helpfull tips & good sound advise, that can be shared among us, and hopefully happy days ahead, tightlines to all. gary and you gary were refering to other unamed members as a-holes recently, so I dont buy your sudden epiphany.

I can see both sides of this argument . Isn't that what freedom of speech is all about? Just take a look outside our wee salmon fishing forum to see what has happened when people didn't speak up and air their views. A pc world where you can't say a word without the danger of ending up in court , or worse , for offending some group or another. Might seem a bit of an extreme comparison , but it's essentially the same thing. Hope that doesn't happen here. Regards. B.

If you spend more time posting and interacting with others you will quickly find like minds and develop your own wee network of friends. Well said Ross ;D. I've "met" more people with strikingly similar interests to mine on this forum in two months than I could in two years on the river. This forum can only ever be what any particular user wants it to be, you get out what you put in. I have no problem with members who don't post often, or members who never post, how can I? We've never met. I also have no problem with members who post 20 times a day. If it's relevant, then post. If not, but you feel that the thread needs something a little off topic then post, it's a free country. How many conversations in the pub are seen through to a satisfactory conclusion without somebody saying "Oh yeah, that reminds me..."? That is the nature of conversation is it not? An ongoing and developing discussion. With regard to the "cliques", as has already been mentioned, some forum members are bound to know other forum members, how many of your own fishing buddies have you told about this forum? If that wasn't the case, it would be a forum for the 3 or however many people started it, wouldn't that be fun?

In fact it had died down with the last post on the matter 4 days ago. Why are you so hell bent on trying to stir it up again? Go and do the forum a favour and just leave it now. It been done to death this thread, lets just get back to talking salmon.
