I hope that the general public won't get the wool pulled over their eyes again and believe all the rubbish that the antis spout. To even think of a fishing ban is crazy but then again we are talking about antis here so crazy is just about right. They will never win this battle but they will keep trying.

Thanks for that tynespeycaster. I provided a brief answer as follows, "No, I do not believe that fishing should be banned. It provides vital employment in rural areas, provides many people with a challenging and very rewarding sport/pastime/hobby, promotes cross cultural and cross class dialogue and friendships, and ironically promotes river management, conservation of fish species, and general countryside awareness and conservation."

Nice one tynecaster. I hate those fools. Here is my reply
"NO
This is a silly suggestion. Animal rights groups are now acting in a similar way to other fundamentalist groups, obsessed with a 'cause'. They are a danger to our society, and probably to themselves.
These idiots are in the priveliged position of living in a stable democracy where their basic needs are met; it is pernicious self indulgence to attack the interests of the rest of the community. Most decent people have a respect for animals, balanced by a concern for people.
The hoo-ha over the Thames whale is a symptom of of how skewed the things have become. There are many more pressing concerns facing our country. Instead of digging up graves pehaps a more meaningful contribution would be to work with some of our communities. People need help too.
For every action there is an equal an opposite reaction. A ban on angling would be a grevious mistake."

Those people have very serious money behind them and some politcal clout as well,They are here to stay and will get stronger for sure. They firmly believe that everyday things like milk comes from cartons and fish comes from Tesco's,and a P45 is a revolver !
