Does anyone else have days when nothing goes right? If so, then you'll know what I'm on about . The other day, full of the usual excitement and anticipation I just started flicking my line across the water, when things started to go wrong. Now I'm not the best caster in the world, country, region - OK town - but what was happening that day was almost ridiculous. Apart from my usual decorating the trees, just in case Christmas comes early (well, we did have our summer in April, so you never know!) I was just about at breaking point when I hanked the overgrown grass behind me. When I went to unhook it, to my surprise it wasn't the hook that was snagged - there was a blade of grass (yes, a blade of grass) tied neatly around my fly line. That was the last straw for me - hence the subject title: 'IF IT CAN, IT WILL!' Do tell of these type of days and make me feel like i,m not alone and it can happen to anyone or does it really just happen to me like some voodoo curse

Whhhhhhhhoooooooooaa
Did the self same thing myself with a poly tip WHILE TACKLING UP and gassing and making everyone late and was told it must be symptomatic of posting on the SFF as a laugh so cut the persection complex and don't go chasing the ghillie about it since it was me who was getting the rip pulled out of me,by a pal.

I would rip him a new one if I were you He told me about the guy with the poly tip on backwards last week, and he didn't even know I was a forum member.. Seriously though, he only mentioned it in passing whilst we were discussing the (in)ability of a Carron line to handle a ploy tip. I think Mr P is a great ghillie, he described his job as a dream come true, which is a fantastic and unusual attitude in a ghillie. I got the distinct impression that he is still as keen on fishing as I am, which is also good. Cheers, Simon
