I see you're from N.Yorks....the fishing down here in the West Country has only just started to go. However, I had a beautiful mending kelt last weekend down here and a few very eager trout scoffing salmon flies! I guess they were hungry ;D It's bitterly cold though - is spring coming soon?

Had 3 days on the Dee at Invery(Banchory) last week fishing Thurs/Fri/Sat. The 6 rods had 8 springers plus a heap of kelts. I had 3 springers at 8, 9 & 10lbs. on the Fri/Sat so pleased to open my account for 2006. It was a bit frustrating however to hear of the big numbers of fish down at Park & Lower Crathes. Baltic weather & v. cold water seemed to be keeping the bulk of the fish down in the lower beats. Bodes well for our April week though. Will try to post pictures but not sure how to do it.

To post piccies I use www.photobucket.com. Very easy to do (you need to register first). Then: 1. Browse your PC and select the picture you want 2. Copy the html code that photobucket will provide for you. (Use the 3rd box at the bottom of the screen under your uploaded pic, the other two do other things. The html code should start with ) 3. Paste it into your "Post reply" thread. Job done! Hope this helps...

Jim - can't see them anymore! Have you moved the piccies within photobucket (for example sorted them about into folders?) cos if you move them you need to update the html code. Let me see ;D Stu

Stu,
No I haven't moved them. I can still see them by clicking on the links above - in my second try above. I notice some members manage to get their pix straight onto their posts - wonder how they do it ?
Jim.

I suppose you have to blow your own trumpet.
My wife organised a day on Arndilly for me on the Spey today (thanks Malcolm) and I managed an 8lb sea-liced fish in the morning AND another springer in the afternoon about 7 lb. I then hooked another fish but lost it.
A birthday present well worth remembering. Will try and post the pics tomorrow pm.

Jim:

PS re the kelt, didn't weigh it as we wanted to get it staright back into the water and off back to the sea for next time(!) I estimate a good 9 lb though, pure silver, lovely condition but extremely lean

They were both taken on a black and yellow pot bellied pig with JC tied on an Aluminium tube. I was using a medium sink IG line. I know the second one looks dead but he was very photogenic and stayed still for the photo. Both were returned safely.
Frank.
