Yippee! ;D I have convinced the missus that it would be a great weekend to visit the Game Fair at Scone Palace on 2nd July - is anyone else going and if you've been before is it as good as it looks? Second question is.. I am desperate to fish on the saturday and have noticed that I might be able to get a day ticket for the Tay (Kercock Fishings) on the saturday. Has anyone fished here and is it worth a chuck?! (I guess Kercock must have fished Kercock, or am I being presumptious?) - JJ

I fish Kercock a few times a year. There are some cracking holding pools that should definitely be holding fish in July. The whole beat will fish well with the fly with exceptions in different water heights, where some parts may be too fast or too slow in high water and low water respectively. It is a great beat with varied stretches of streamy water that always fish well with the fly, regardless of water height, and slower deeper water. However, the running fish take definite paths through the beat, and with both banks available and boats to move you about the beat, you will cover fish. A rare commodity on the Tay these days - a genuine value for money beat. Even if you don't get a fish, you will see some and it is an interesting and beautiful beat to fish. Dennis, the ghille, knows the water very well and will point you in the right direction.

Kercock aka Dennis the ghillie, is full of good info and you will be in great hands! From what i hear the fishing aint bad either! well worth the day out. As for the Scone game fair, iv'e been three out of the last five years, but not for the last two as its fallen on my work weekend...... it is pretty repetitive.... but good for a day out..... and the venison burgers are superb! as are some of the demo's!

I would love to go to the fair but I am at the mercy of the fickle gods of the oilfield. Will be there if I can.

Was on Kercock today, Fruin knows the beat well so listen to him & Dennis knows his stuff too. Owen, Surely this should have read - Dennis knows the beat and his fishing very well so pay attention to him. Fruin has fished it a number of times, so may be of slight assistance.

Nah,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,he was right the first time . We could meet at the beer tent, great idea !. For those who have never been to the Game Fair before, the beer tent is the one which is generally full of people drinking. !

I hope to make it to the gamefair but my wife is expecting our third child around that time, so I'll see what happens. Two kids greeting at my feet and my wife needing to sit down or requiring a fast vehicle to the hospital - chances of sitting down to enjoy a beer with you guys, slim but I'll work on it!!! Nolon will be married by then, so he'll probably not be allowed to go
