Today, 28th April, we heard the first cuckoo of the year behind the house. This is about two weeks earlier than normal.
The Swallows arrived on Thursday the 24th which was within 2 days of normal.
So our Swallows ignored the early spring and stuck to their usual timetable while the cuckoos are getting stuck in early.
I'm interested to know what others are seeing.
P.A.T.

Good Grannom hatch today on the Tweed and some funny bumble bees with reddish bums...

Plenty of cuckoos around the Borgie and Halladale, in fact the only sport I had in either case was winding them up with my cuckoo impression. No water, no fish......
