Paul For what it's worth, I have fished from the Marnoch side and would guess that Kinnairdy would be as follows. Kinnairdy Run would be impossible as it has a lot of boulders and little islands on the Kinnairdy side. The top of Falconers would be very difficult because of the bank and trees. There is a lie further down the pool in some fairly slack water that could be got at, but again there are a few trees. Poukes should be good from the Kinnairdy side as the main channel is down that side once you get into the main pool. The top of Poukes comes in from either side of a little island and looks fishy just below. There are a few rocks but nothing too serious at that point. Upper Hummies is a a featureless piece of water that would only fish well with 2 feet of water on. Middle Hummies is the best section of the beat, being easily accessed from the hut, well caravan. There are one or two croys that make the pool interesting for fish, but if the water is low (summer level or less) then the rocks are showing everywhere and can prove tricky. From Marnoch's side it is awful. Lower Hummies is a vast deep and wide canal, but holds back end fish well, probably because they get lost! I think the March Pool is also included within the beat, which is a streamy bit with a channel down the middle. This does need a foot or so of water to fish well.
As Graham says, do your rain dance and hope for at least a foot of water! Whichever way, tight lines!

Many thanks for that! Sounds a mixture of good, bad and evil so should prove interesting to say the least! Will let you all know how it went late August.

Paul, if it's any consolation, you might find that Kinnairdy fishes better than Marnoch at any given height of water, just look at the reports from 2004 and 2005 on Turriff Tackle's website.
