I've got my third and final attempt at the Avon this weekend, before the season ends this month.
Anyone caught anything from the Avon this season - any shreds of encouragement much appreciated..

I fished the Avon this year, six days towards the end of August. We were flooded off the river twice and it probably lost us a days fishing in total. Despite there being too much rain we did have a successful week. Between two rods we had 25 fish, 3 of which were double figure fish (all fish were released except 4 grilse). I have had 3 consecutive August trips and had a really good sport, we just seemed to hit the spate right!
I hope if you get onto the river you have some sport similar to ours.
