Noticed on Fishdee site there is availabilty on a number of good river Dee beats. With the high water levels and mild winter there should be a decent amount of springers slipping quietly upstream. See the website for info . www.fishdee.co.uk/pages/rodsmonth.asp?dom=FishDee

Agreed - £60 for a day on Park (South) sounds good

Lower river - Feb - April (plus Sept) Middle river - March - June Upper River - April - June
Most beats are good - when they are available, its just catching the kind conditions as ever.

The lower river is pretty hard going until August. You might get he odd fish and sea-trout. In September, it can be fantastic The middle Dee is always a good bet but the price can be high for a day among good fish. The Upper river really excels from May onwards. I've spent a bit of time over the last years fishing in Ballater during June and July which can be excellent.

Sloggi,
The lower river is from Banchory (bridge) downstream.
The beats you are referring (i.e Below Park Bridge) fish best from August onwards.
Tyne Andrew's advice is sound, providing you don't go below Park in the early part of the season.

With some extra water in the river post June, then good fishing can be had on most of the river.
I know, for instance, that Aboyne were picking up the occasional sea liced fish in September.

Extra water in June - wow, that's a distant memory Last summer, some of the pools were almost stagnant I like Monaltrie in June/July - salmon by day; sea-trout at night
