Never boring Jim, but can I ask you to pick 6 numbers for my lottery ticket this weekend! ;D Looking at the wading on that ledge, you deserved a fish for sheer bravery! John, can we go halves on a ticket? I've got 50p ;D Good report Jim, keep 'em coming. PS, who in the right mind decided to find out if there was a ledge under the rocks?

PS, who in the right mind decided to find out if there was a ledge under the rocks? The new understudy ghillie, Glenn waded it first time in front of me to show me the way. Rockclimbing was one of my passions in my younger years which helps. Johnny "Hardy" Sutherland , the main ghillie has landed just a few short of 20,000 fish for him and his guests in his forty odd years on the river so you can be sure he knows every rock and ledge on the Helmsdale.

great report Jim, well done too. What tactics charmed all those grilse? Were there any thin ones among them, like last year? Have you much booked on Tweed? Bob's been well down, hasn't he?

All but one of my fish (and my Wife's) were on size 8 or Salar 11 Flamethrowers. The other one came to a size 10 Hairy Mary on the dropper. Full floater. Grilse in good nick apart from a few with the inlamed vent which was so evident in the Tay grilse last year. Have some fishing on the Tweed Oct/Nov. Not sure which Bob you are referring to
