The head gillie from Delfur knows what to do and I showed him where to go. What a generous host I am. So despite this he still caught 2 fish. He must be VERY good.

Is Delfur really on the Dee?Joking apart we should have dedicated Dee section on the forum as there are a lot of fishers and gillies on the Dee using the forum.lets address this point sensibly and have a dedicated Dee section as i am sure it will get more hits than some of the other rivers.

Greenbanks, WG's fishing companion who took two from Crathes is the ghillie at Delfur. That's how I read it anyway. Talking about Silver beauties, I had another on Saturday. A nice fish of around 11lb from the Birkenbaud at Knappach. On a roll this season two springers so far and it's only early March. Considering previous seasons, the earliest I've caught a fresh run Salmon is late May. SAY

Greenbanks,
Aluminium 1 1/2" GWG fished on the set-up as recommended by your good self, Intermediate line with a 10ft fast sink tip.
One thing I have noticed this season is the condition of the kelts. The vast majority have been extremely well mended and could easily be mistaken as a springer to the untrained eye.
Sluie next week, here's hoping the run can continue

Sluie next week, here's hoping the run can continue SAY Hope so Say I concur with your observation on the kelts. I had some Norwegians over fishing last week. Vegard Heggem,ex Liverpool fc,and beat owner on the Orkla and Gaula with Stener Skogma casting instructor with Loop lts and a couple of other experienced fishers.Stener incidentally is like Merlin the wizard with his 14 footer and custom made shooting head system. In a hearty blow he was doing a tasty little snake roll and flicking out the shooting head towards the heavens covering the lower kirks pool.He was amazing to watch and a fine guy to chat with later when the fishing finished. He winkled a fish out and so did a colleague who showed me a picture of a wee fish about 7lbs.He was disappointed when i advised him it was a kelt,as you say very well mended, but easily identified to the experienced eye. That said they dont catch many Kelts in Norway as the season opens June 1st.Hope your run of good fortune continues. All the best.
