got it! www.fishdee.co.uk/sluie/river.asp?dom=FishDeeI wouldnt fret about it- plenty fish on the move. have a look on fishdee to see what's happening on the other bank and the beats above and below. Might give you a bit of insight. Graham Ritchie will probably give you the low down when he logs on. Good luck

Opposite banks are Balogie and Commonty so must be capable of producing a few.
Looking at the catch returns it looks like it has been lightly fished. As stated.

I'm fishing there in March so I'll be interested in how you get on. I think the beat will include the Suicide Pool which looks a good pool. The beat is on the North side of the river. Looking at the fishdee link it either doesn't fish as well as Ballogie/Commonty or has indeed been underfished - hopefully the latter I fished Commonty last Satuday - very nice but difficult wading in places. The Sluie side looked easier wading. I think the next beat down from Sluie is Woodend - but not 100% on that. Good luck!

Suicide is quite central on the beat. Woodend is downstream and Borrowston is above. I like my Dee pools map

Heard the Dee has burst its banks at Maryculter, anyone heard how it is around the Sluie area
I see from the Fishdee website it was 6ft 4in at Woodend
Does that mean 6ft 4in above normal summer low? or something else
Cheers

See it has fallen to 3ft 7 in at Woodend, so might be all right if it keeps falling at that rate, who knows
Still, a day out any way

Fishing M Blackhall tomorrow..I have never fished the beat before so i am looking for any tips with the water being up a bit ? Se the thread in "General" for M Blackhall. Dee will be fine tomorrow - dropping nicely, clearing and fish will be running hard in the mild conditions

Fished Sluie yesterday but no joy, seen fish throughout the beat
No wading on the top bit , current too strong, but easy enough off the bank
Easy wading from the hut down, but Sloggi & all be aware
At the second jetty down from the hut there is a ferocious undercurrent which totally lifted me off my feet(into it before I knew where I was)
Floating downstream on my A*** but managed to grab a rock and get out, scary stuff
All in all though, a lovely piece of water & very friendly owners
