Not another poacher from the Kirk Salmon have been running for a good few years now, not only the Kelvin, but all they way past my house and on up the Glazert. Not in great numbers and I have not heard of any running the Luggie. I remember some 8years ago seeing what looked like a group of 2 sea trout and 2 salmon in a pool behind Lennoxtown. In MOC where I stay the odd salmon is caught mainly on worm and after the "Fair" and in spate conditions. I don't know if anyone seriously targets them, I don't, and if they do it will be with worm in falling water. I'll enquire more and let you know. Cheers, Jock

Jock, I did manage to catch an 11 pound salmon(returned) in Oct 1996 just below where the Glazert and Kelvin join. Haven't really fished it much since then. I have seen salmon in the pools at MOC, usually in Nov/Dec. I also live in MOC.

Cheers Lomond. I too was in the Kincaid earlier this evening having a bite to eat with the wife and grandchildren Were you the nice lad in the beer garden who informed us of our darling little Callum eating the f*g ends from the ashtray at the ajoining table? If you were, thank you. Although it was a bit too late for him avoiding getting the f*g ash in his eye. He has a lovely inflamed eye, which, while obviously sore, does not appear to have the same degree of pain associated with it as the lump on his little sister's head that she acquired when she tripped and banged her head on my wife's leg. It is not been the quietist of nights in this household since our tea time visit to the Kincaid Thought at one stage I would be going to A&E at the Royal. Then wife reminded me why we were babysitting our daughter's children............her hubby was at work and she was doing a 10 to 10 shift as a Doc in A& E at the Royal. Looks like a bit of overtime for her when she gets home ;D I'll enjoy the pint on Tuesday. Cheers, Jock

Jock, I was 'slumming it' in the back bar. Was probably in around the same time as you (6ish to 8 ish).
Enjoy the Guinness.
