Graham or Malcolm should be able to fill you in on this beat, they both know the river well.

I have fished it a good few years ago. They have a web site www.avochie-fishings.com/Which says. There are 24 named pools, and all but one stretch of 900 yards are double bank fishing. The beat is good fly water, with a good variation of pools and rapids. The River Isla joins the Deveron at the Avochie junction pool. I liked the Juntion pool and the pool under the railway bidge. The water down at Rothiemay is interesting if a bit out of the way.

Greenalert,
If like us there aren't many Salmon around, try your trout rod. Above and below the railway bridge all the way down to the Joiners pool is excellent trout water. Wet sparce greewells ( waterhen boa ) and dry olives best.
Tight Lines

Nice slideshow - did you have time for fishing Looks like it needed at least 6" of water to liven it up.

You still reeling them in? Yep It's getting better, slowly. Have you noticed that Tilbouries have sea trout rods on offer? £12 an evening (6pm-midnight).
