Does anyone know if any fish are being caught on the Nairn? I was up north for a few days over half term but I did not manage to get on the river.
The recent rain should help freshen up the rivers. I saw some salmon rising around Dulsie Bridge on the Findhorn at the weekend before the river rose.

How does this River fish nowadays? In times gone by it was one of the most poached Rivers in Scotland!

I was up their last week - on a family holiday, so the fly rods and waders stayed at home. I walked up the Nairn one day, just to suss it out a bit. The river looked a nice height with a peaty stain, but still reasonable visibility. I spoke to a couple of anglers who said there was not much to report. Looks a nice river.

The Nairn is a little gem.
Not much mentioned about it, but the club regularly catches over 1000 fish each season, not to mention a large number of fish caught on the private beats around Daviot.
Nairn side is the best beat on the river, where some great days can be had in both high and low water conditions.
The nairn also has a first class sea trout run in May and the Summer months. They average 2.5lbs
