Presumably the reason why Banchory accounts for nearly half the Dee's July catch of Salmon is because the 'vast majority' of grilse run the Feugh?
What is the fishing like on the Feugh itself - does anybody on here fish the river at all?
The falls just above the bridge are a serious barrier, i remember watching fish trying to get up there one September and it seemed impossible. They obviously do though.

I toyed with the idea of fishing it a couple of years ago but was told that a lot of it suffers from seriously overgrown banks. The fishing can allegedly be good though - once you find the river...........

Fished the Feugh today in the blazing sun and C & R a nice fresh 4lb grilse which took a size 11 Ness C. A few fish were showing including some nice brown trout. A nice stretch of river with some good pools. A cracking day on Costa Del Royal Deeside. Hornet
