Have any members heard of any fish yet running the R Endrick ?
I started the annual bank management - strimming, a bit of pruning and repositioning some of the boulder lies / croys on a private stretch yesterday, well up beyond Drymen, and although we're not lacking in water this year, there seemed a dearth of fish in any of the pools.
Normally, and I know it is still early, with the amount of rain over the past month fish would be up and over the pots of gartness, and in years gone by the last two weeks of July can give good sport with sea trout, if the water's there.
Just wondered if anyone has either been out / heard of others out and what the consensus on numbers of fish is ?
Cheers,
Altmor.

Maybe worth pitching your question to other local anglers altmor, try here: www.robbieredball.net/forum/forum/I know there were a few fish off the Leven recently and a few runs of fresh fish spotted going through last week so if they are in the loch, they might be up by you soon..fingers crossed! HI Alltmor, There were some fish that ran in July on the spates. There are plenty of sea trout in the 1.5 to 3lbs category. I was fishing last Monday night and only managed sea trout, but I did watch the river for a while after dark, and there were reasonable numbers of grilse moving through. There have been fish running into the loch taking up station along the Endrick Bank, so the next couple of spates should see some fish moving through the Endrick. I managed to cut my hand, damaging nerves, so will be out of action for at least a week. This should guarantee that the Endrick gets a really good run of fish and perfect conditions for the next week!!!

Thanks Fruin, and hope the hand gets better for the long awaited arrival of fish.
I nicked up to the river last night, thinking with all the rain on Saturday it would be worth a cast - but chocolate brown despite being a good height. No fish.
That said, spoke to the "Laird" midweek last week and he had a 6lbr from one of the pools I'd managed to work on last Saturday and rose another in the other pool I'd cleared. So they're over the pots now and will hopefully build up in numbers over the next few weeks.
Tight Lines,
Altmor.
