I was wondering if anyone has fished the Ayrshire Stinchar lately. Theres a few of us heading up there on the 20th for the day and was just wandering how its fishing.

Yeah fished it last week on Dalreoch it was a low water just missed a wee spate damm. Never caught anything but there was loads of fish showing so plenty about. You just need to try and lure one. Small red tubes at this time of year.

Cheers Which beat are you fishing? This has been one of the best seasons in recent years on the Stinchar. The lower river is stuffed with fish, however, the best of the season may have passed as last October was a disappointment . It looks like the Stinchar is getting back to its former glory as this is the second good season in a row. Lots of fish in the teens as well so you could have good sport if there is water.

Cant remember what the beats called but its one very near the top end.

good to hear that. As long as my old man gets one on Sat i don't care to be honest. Although i can almost guarantee it'll be splitting sun and about 90degrees after the year i've had. And to think i gave up my old firm ticket too...

Oh and i made an arse of myself, it's not dareloch we're fishing, it's tom lothian's beat, which i cannot remember the name of now either!
