I need to learn about setting up tube flies ie. matching the different tube lengths to hook sizes and the choice of singles doubles or trebles. Can any body help me find a reference for this please?

personally I just go with what looks right. 95% of the time i use loop doubles, which are excellent. they're strong and seem to be able to withstand a decent amount of rock action before losing their point, which helps to justify their top end price (about £6 for 10)
on a 1" tube I may use the #8 or #6, whereas on a 2" tube I may go up to the #2. but then there are some who only use #6 hooks for all their tubes! I guess there is little logic for changing the size of the hook - if a #8 will hook well with a 1" tube, then it'll hook just as well with a 2" tube. it'll just look out of balance to our eyes....
